The Tech Museum winners
Since February 2008, the Tech Museum of Innovation has been on the island to give teens an opportunity to build their own 3D exhibits. The winners on the teen grid of the contest have been chosen and will be awarded $1000 USD total from the museum.

Rolling Grounds of Color was chosen for its creative implementation of a simple yet essential art concept: color mixing. In a beautiful, playful, highly interactive and multi-sensory installation, Mikkel and Shawn created an exhibit that encourages exploration and learning.

The Tech Museum is still excepting entries for Machinima to show during their real life exhibition in June. Machinima is filmmaking in 3D virtual worlds. They would like content from the teen grid to be filmed. For more information visit here.

Why does the library have an island in Teen Second Life?
Learning how to navigate in 3D environments whether it’s for online education courses (many universities and even middle schools are using second life to teach!) or participating in other events, is something the library can help with.

ImaginOn has Teen Second Life installed on laptops in the Loft and offers classes in the Tech Central lab. Want second life installed at your branch? Let us know!
