Teen Author Visit: Catherine Gilbert Murdock - author of Dairy Queen

Moms and daughters, sisters, best friends and girls of all ages will delight in meeting and talking with young adult author, Catherine Gilbert Murdock. Murdock's popular novels, Dairy Queen and The Off Season, chronicle the ups and downs of D.J. Schwenk, the only girl on her high school's football team. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions about Murdock's writing process, as well as about the exciting characters she's created. There will also be Dairy Queen-themed door prizes and refreshments.
Copies of Murdock's books will also be available for purchase. Please call 704-655-9409 to reserve a library copy of any of Murdock's novels or for more information.

Mother-Daughter Book Club Event

Calling all 6th-9th grade girls and their moms or favorite female relative! Join us in this special book discussion of Dairy Queen by Catherine Gilbert Murdock. In Dairy Queen we meet DJ Schwenk, who plans to spend an ordinary, boring summer working on her family's dairy farm. The summer ends up being anything but ordinary as DJ begins training (and crushing on!) the rival school's quarterback and then decides to try out for the football team herself!
Just one week later on Tuesday, April 22, Catherine Gilbert Murdock will be at the Cornelius Library and you'll have the chance to discuss the novel, as well as the writing process, with her! Please call 704-655-9409 to reserve your copy of Dairy Queen and for more information on the author's visit.
